Below is a step-by-step guide on how to manifest your best life using the tools of creating a Vision Board and Mind Maps. If you have any questions or want more guidance, please contact me.
Vision Board
Having a Vision Board is essential and I believe this should be created first. Knowing where you are going doesn't need to be validated by where you have been. Your life can be determined and created by you, you are not your past nor your experiences. You deserve to have the life you want and if you can imagine it, I say why not? This is only the first step of creating your best life, I cannot guarantee that this tool will get you there but I can assure you that this will support you.
Digital Layout If you are on a iPhone or Mac (Preferred Mac) please use the app: Freeform. If you are using other devices please use the app: Microsoft Whiteboard. 1. Setting the environment. 1. What’s your favorite music genre? 1. Go on Youtube/Spotify/Apple Music, etc and type it in followed by “Lo-Fi” and start the music. Do your best to not have ads 1. You are looking to find music that speaks to you without words. Words are distracting and can influence your thoughts into a direction that you may not be looking for. 2. Find a comfortable space where you won’t be distracted 1. Have your favorite drink nearby: Coffee, Tea, or a glass of wine 1. You are looking to fill your insides with things you enjoy but not in excess. 2. If you like aromas, set a candle or light some incense 1. The more senses you can arose, the more intune your board will be with you. 3. If you’re hungry, have your favorite snacks that are easy to grab and won’t leave a mess. 3. Open your desired app and write the following subjects down on either a paper or in the app you are using 1. Relationships 2. Community/Social Life 3. Physical Life 4. Environments 5. Home 6. Family 7. Materials 8. Foods 9. Traveling 10. Dreams 1. Write them down the topics above as many times as you want in the next 60 seconds then close your eyes 2. Envision what these words mean to you. Create your vision in your eye and explore it. 3. Write/Type down your thoughts or verbalize them as you are running wild for the next 3 or more minutes 1. I prefer typing them down as I tend to forget quickly. Typos don’t matter as long as you get the thoughts down. 4. Reflect on what just happened and I you need more time, close your eyes again and dream 1. As you reflect, begin to take the descriptions you wrote down and begin to narrow them down all the way into how it fits into your topics. 2. As you write down the thoughts, you can create your own details and play with the imaginary story that just played out. Be as descriptive as possible 3. Ask yourself the following questions about the stories you just created 1. Where in the world did this take place? 2. Was I with anyone? 3. What was I wearing? 4. What did I look like? 5. I was happy in that moment, where did that feeling come from? 4. Now take those answers and find photos accordingly via your favorite search engine or use bing.com/create 1. If using AI to create your images, write in as much detail as possible that makes sense to you. As previously mentioned there is no right or wrong to this exercise. Be a child and have fun with it. 4. Repeat as many times as needed until you see your board and finally feel that this is complete. 5. Take as much time as needed to complete but no more than a week. 6. Print the board and hang it in a space that you will see on a regular basis
Phyisical Board 1. Commute to your local book store or grocery store. 1. As you are commuting, play your favorite type of music. 2. Begin to let yourself think about why you like this music 2. Before entering the store, close your eyes and take a breath. Think of a word that is meaningful to you. 1. If you are struggling with thinking of a word, go to the following website and randomly scroll and land on a word. 1. The word you land on is meant for you. It doesn’t have to make sense but let the world settle with you 3. Gather your materials 1. I suggest having a budget of $50 prior to purchasing your magazines and books. 2. Find a poster board, glue, scissors, and any other scrapping tools you will need 4. Setting the environment. 1. What’s your favorite music genre? 1. If you’re hungry, have your favorite snacks that are easy to grab and won’t leave a mess. 1. Let your inner child be free and explore what is possible. Dream big and wildish. If a design is calling out to you, following the design. Let your inner child run free. 1. Mind Map
Having a Mind Map is essential in your life. Not knowing where you are traveling can lead to dismay, confusion, and regrets. The goal of your map is to take your mind and put your thoughts in front of you. Your mind can be guided in many directions but as long as you are traveling towards your vision, you cannot go wrong. With a map, you have to know where you have been so you don't backtrack. Keep moving forward and explore the possibilities that can come when you allow your mind to play
Digital or Physical Board 1. The more senses you can arose, the more in-tune your map will be with you. 3. If you’re hungry, have your favorite snacks that are easy to grab and won’t leave a mess. 2. Who are you? 1. Write down YOUR favorite character traits and your full name. 1. Example: Becky Jones is loving, beautiful, and courageous 1. Jot down as many as you can think of and them eliminate them all until you can get down to 3. 2. Let these 3 words be your guiding light for the rest of your life 1. These words can change over time but sit and reflect on them. Create a story behind each word and have them mean the universe to you. 3. Write down your name and the words you are attached to then circle it. 4. Write down the industries that you have dabbled in over your life or want to explore. 1. If you have completed your vision board, take a look at it as you are pondering. 5. Have these industries be your anchors to who you are and connect them to your circle, this is who you are and what industries have reflected on your life. 6. Take a look at each industry and create smaller circles of each industry. 1. Be sure that these smaller circles can be broken down again 1. Example: Travel (industry circle) 1. Where I have been (circle 1) 2. Where I am going (circle 2) 2. If you want to take your smaller circles and break them down further, keep going until you cannot break down any more 7. Within each industry, be sure to have what you have done 1. These can be awards, jobs, places, personal acheivements, etc 8. As you are reflecting on each industry and your past, new thoughts of where you are going can arise. These thoughts can be drawn up when looking at your vision board for inspiration. 1. Write down the new thoughts via new circles. These can be names of a new business, a new place to travel, or even a new industry entirely. There is no right or wrong. 9. Continue to break down your circles as many times as needed 10. This board will never be complete, add over time but never remove. There is a reason as to why certain thoughts came up. These reasons may not be apparent at this current moment but it will come to you eventually. 11. Take as much time as needed but no more than a week. 12. Place your mind map somewhere you can see it on a regular basis, ideally next to your vision board.
